Bhu Naksha MP 2026 | Check Madhya Pradesh Land Map Online
What is Bhu Naksha MP? (मध्य प्रदेश भू नक्शा)
Bhu Naksha MP (भू नक्शा मध्यप्रदेश) is the official digital land map service provided by the Commissioner Land Records and Settlement Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh that allows every citizen to view, check, and download the map of any land parcel in Madhya Pradesh showing exact plot boundaries, Khasra numbers, land area, neighbouring plots, and land ownership details completely free of cost for basic viewing.
In simple language: if you want to see exactly where your land is, what shape it is, how big it is, what your plot number (Khasra number) is, and who owns the plots next to yours Bhu Naksha MP gives you all of this in a digital map format from your phone or computer, without visiting any government office.
Before this digital system, getting a land map in MP required visiting the Patwari or Tehsil office, waiting for days, paying unofficial fees to middlemen, and often getting incomplete or outdated information. Today, the same map is available in seconds on any smartphone.
Madhya Pradesh is one of India’s largest states by land area covering 3.08 lakh square kilometres with 55 districts, 413 tehsils, and over 55,000 villages. Through the Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP), the Bhu Naksha MP portal has digitized land maps across the state, positioning Madhya Pradesh as a leader in land record modernization.

What is WebGIS 2.0 – MP’s New Land Map System?
From July 30, 2025, the MP Bhulekh portal operates through the upgraded WebGIS 2.0 portal at webgis2.mpbhulekh.gov.in. This is a significant upgrade from the earlier system.
What changed with WebGIS 2.0:
The old MP Bhulekh portal had a separate Bhu Naksha section. WebGIS 2.0 integrates the land map (Bhu Naksha) directly with the land records (Khasra/Khatauni) in one unified platform. This means when you view a Khasra on WebGIS 2.0, you can see the linked land map simultaneously – and when you view the map, you can see the linked ownership records.
Key improvements in WebGIS 2.0:
- GIS-based interactive map zoom in/out, click on plots
- Direct integration of Khasra records with land maps
- Faster loading and mobile-optimized interface
- Aadhaar e-KYC integration for land record verification
- Online mutation (Namantaran) tracking
- Land revenue payment integration
- Complaint filing system
- Certified copy download for registered users
Important note: The old portal mpbhulekh.gov.in/viewBhuNaksha.do still works for basic map viewing, but for all advanced services and certified copies, use webgis2.mpbhulekh.gov.in.

What is Bhumi Khand Naksha in MP?
Bhumi Khand Naksha (भू-भाग नक्शा / भूमि खंड नक्शा) is the specific term used in MP land records for a single land parcel map showing the boundaries, measurements, and GIS coordinates of one specific plot (Khasra). This is what appears when you search by Khasra number on the WebGIS 2.0 portal.
It is different from a village map (Gramwar Naksha) which shows all plots in an entire village – and from a tehsil or district map.
When you need Bhumi Khand Naksha specifically:
- Property purchase due diligence – verify exact boundaries
- Bank loan against property – banks require individual plot map
- Construction planning – understand plot dimensions
- Boundary disputes – establish official boundaries in court
- Mutation applications – attach certified plot map
How to View Khasra Khatauni with Map Together
One of the most useful features of WebGIS 2.0 is the ability to view the Khasra record (ownership details) and the Bhu Naksha (land map) simultaneously. Here is how:
Step 1: Go to webgis2.mpbhulekh.gov.in
Step 2: Click “भू-अभिलेख” → Select District, Tehsil, Village.
Step 3: Search by Khasra number → View your Khasra details.
Step 4: On the Khasra result page, look for “नक्शा देखें” (View Map) button or a map icon.
Step 5: Clicking this opens the GIS map with your specific Khasra plot highlighted showing you both the ownership record and the physical map location simultaneously.
This integrated view is the biggest advantage of WebGIS 2.0 over the old system where land records and maps were on separate portals.

How to download: Search “MP Bhulekh” on Google Play Store → Download the official app by the Government of Madhya Pradesh → Install and open.
Key features of the MP Bhulekh app include viewing land records (Khasra, Khatoni, Adhikar Abhilekh, MRR Copy, RCMS Order Copy, and Maps directly), search functionality by village, landowner name, survey number, or plot number, certified copies for official purposes, and digitized land maps (Bhu Naksha) to view property boundaries and ownership details.
Who should use the app:
- Farmers checking land records and maps from the field
- Property buyers doing on-site verification
- Legal professionals accessing records during field visits
- NRIs monitoring their MP land remotely
App vs website: The app and website have the same data and services. The app is more convenient for mobile users with a native interface, while the website is better for viewing detailed GIS maps on a larger screen.
Bhu Naksha MP for Farmers – Why It Is Critical
For MP’s crore of farmers, the Bhu Naksha is far more than a map it is the key document that determines their economic security.
Kisan Credit Card and Crop Loan Applications Banks require the Bhu Naksha (land parcel map) along with the Khasra to verify that the land exists, has proper boundaries, and is agricultural. A certified Bhu Naksha from WebGIS 2.0 speeds up KCC and crop loan processing significantly. Farmers with clear, clean maps get loan approval faster.
PM Fasal Bima Yojana (Crop Insurance) The crop insurance scheme uses Khasra records to calculate coverage. The Bhu Naksha confirms the physical land area matches the Khasra record. If there is a discrepancy between the map area and the Khasra area, the farmer may receive lower insurance payout.
PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Verification PM Kisan beneficiary verification includes cross-checking the Khasra and Bhu Naksha records. Farmers with updated, accurate maps are verified faster and receive ₹6,000/year without delays.
Land Boundary Disputes in MP (Common Issue) Madhya Pradesh has historically high rates of agricultural land boundary disputes – particularly in districts like Morena, Bhind, Gwalior, and Chambal where land parcels have been divided multiple times through inheritance. The Bhu Naksha serves as the primary evidence in these disputes the GIS-based map on WebGIS 2.0 is accepted by revenue courts and civil courts across MP.
Land Conversion (Diversification) Applications When a farmer wants to convert agricultural land to residential or commercial use (called Bhoomi Diversion or Akarani in MP), the Bhu Naksha must be submitted with the application to the Collector’s office. The map proves the land’s exact location, area, and current classification.
Bhu Naksha MP for Property Buyers – Verification Checklist
Before buying any land or property in Madhya Pradesh, complete this full verification checklist using the Bhu Naksha portal:
✅ View Bhu Naksha – Confirm the plot exists and boundaries match what the seller claims
✅ Verify Khasra number – Ensure the Khasra number on the map matches the sale agreement
✅ Check land classification colour – Yellow = agricultural, Green = forest (cannot be purchased privately), Grey = government/road
✅ Verify land area – Confirm the map area matches the Khasra area and the sale agreement area
✅ Check neighbouring plots – Understand which plots are adjacent important for access roads and future development
✅ View Khatauni (B1) – Confirm the seller’s name appears as the recorded land owner
✅ Check for encumbrances – Land with a bank mortgage or pending court case will show encumbrances in the Khasra record
✅ Verify land conversion status – If the seller claims the land is “converted” (non-agricultural), verify the conversion order separately
✅ Get certified Bhu Naksha – For legal protection, download the paid certified copy and keep it on record
✅ Check mutation status – If the seller recently purchased the land, verify mutation (Namantaran) is complete in their name
This checklist takes 1 hour but protects you from the most common land fraud schemes in MP including selling forest/government land as private land, selling land with incorrect boundaries, and selling land already mortgaged to a bank.
Bhu Naksha MP for NRIs – Access from Abroad
Madhya Pradesh has a significant NRI population especially from Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, and Jabalpur who now live in the USA, Canada, UK, Gulf, and Australia and own ancestral land in MP.
Good news for NRIs: The WebGIS 2.0 portal is fully accessible from any country without VPN or special configuration. All map viewing and basic Khasra checking is free and available internationally.
What NRIs can do from abroad:
- View land map (Bhu Naksha) for any MP plot
- Check Khasra ownership records
- Register on WebGIS 2.0 using an Indian mobile number
- Download basic (non-certified) land maps
- Monitor if unauthorized changes are made to land records
What NRIs cannot do remotely:
- Appear for mutation hearing at Tehsil
- Get physical certified copy from Patwari office
- Participate in land measurement (Sarvekshan)
For NRIs monitoring ancestral land: The MP Bhulekh portal does not yet have an SMS alert service like Bihar Bhumi. NRIs should designate a trusted Power of Attorney holder in MP who can monitor records and appear for any proceedings as needed. Regular self-monitoring of the Khasra record online is recommended check quarterly for any unexpected mutation or encumbrance entries.
How Banks Use Bhu Naksha MP for Loan Verification
When you apply for a home loan, agricultural loan, or loan against property in Madhya Pradesh, the bank’s legal team performs due diligence on the property. Here is exactly how Bhu Naksha MP fits into this process:
Bank’s due diligence process:
- Bank requests certified Khasra copy and certified Bhu Naksha from the applicant
- Bank’s lawyer or internal team independently verifies the land map at WebGIS 2.0
- They check: does the plot exist? Are the boundaries as described? Is the area correct?
- They verify: is the land agricultural or has it been legally converted for the intended use?
- They check for encumbrances: is the same land already mortgaged to another bank?
- They cross-reference the map with the registered sale deed to ensure consistency
For home loans on agricultural land: Banks require a certified Bhu Naksha showing the land is suitable for the proposed use. Banks in MP typically require an up-to-date certified map not older than 6 months.
After loan sanction: The bank registers a mortgage charge (Bandhan/Bhojan) against your land. This encumbrance appears in your Khasra record. After the loan is fully repaid, you must apply to have this encumbrance removed from the Khasra.
Legal Importance of Bhu Naksha MP in Courts
The Bhu Naksha (certified land parcel map) from MP Bhulekh WebGIS 2.0 is accepted as primary documentary evidence in:
Revenue Courts (Rajasva Nyayalay): All tahsil-level and collector-level revenue courts in MP accept certified Bhu Naksha maps as evidence of land boundaries and classification.
High Court of Madhya Pradesh (Jabalpur): The Jabalpur High Court regularly refers to certified MP Bhulekh maps in land dispute cases. The court has validated the government’s WebGIS data as authoritative evidence.
Civil Courts: In boundary disputes, encroachment cases, and property suits, a certified Bhu Naksha from the official portal is the strongest evidence of a plot’s location and dimensions.
Important legal note: For court purposes, always obtain the paid certified copy with a digital signature – a self-downloaded basic map from the free service is not accepted as legal evidence in most courts.
Bhu Naksha MP vs Khasra MP – What is the Difference?
This is a very common question among MP land record users. Here is the exact difference:
| Bhu Naksha MP (भू नक्शा) | Khasra MP (खसरा) | |
| What it is | Land parcel map – visual/graphical | Land ownership and revenue record textual |
| Shows | Boundaries, shape, area, neighbouring plots | Owner name, area, crop, irrigation, revenue |
| Format | Map / diagram | Document / text record |
| Used for | Boundary verification, construction, disputes | Ownership proof, loans, government schemes |
| Where to view | WebGIS 2.0 → “भू-भाग नक्शा” | WebGIS 2.0 → “भू-अभिलेख” |
| Certified copy | Paid – ₹20–₹50 | Paid – ₹20–₹50 |
| Free viewing | Yes – basic map | Yes – basic text |
Bottom line: You need BOTH – the Khasra to prove ownership and the Bhu Naksha to prove boundary. For any land transaction or loan application, obtain certified copies of both.
Common Problems on MP Bhu Naksha Portal and Solutions
Problem 1: Village not found in the dropdown Not all villages may be digitized yet on WebGIS 2.0. Try the old portal at mpbhulekh.gov.in/viewBhuNaksha.do it sometimes has records that WebGIS 2.0 does not yet show. If the village is still not found, visit your Patwari office with your old Khasra document.
Problem 2: Map not loading or showing blank screen WebGIS 2.0’s GIS maps are data-heavy and may be slow on weak internet. Switch to a strong WiFi connection. Clear browser cache. Use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. Disable browser extensions that might block GIS scripts.
Problem 3: Khasra number not found on map Enter the Khasra number exactly as written in your document without leading zeros or extra characters. If your Khasra is “234/1”, try entering “234” and then “1” separately (main plot and sub-division). If still not found, your plot may have been renumbered in a re-survey – check with your local Patwari.
Problem 4: Wrong owner name in Khasra This requires a Namantaran (mutation) application if the land was sold or inherited without mutation. Apply online at WebGIS 2.0 → “Online Namantaran” or visit your Tehsil office with your registered sale deed.
